The Standard of Character Depicted
for Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.)
within the Qur'an and
the Hadeeths by
Bukhari and
Muslim
are at two extreme spectrums
of the Standard of Character...

Introduction:
Until a few decades ago, the general consensus was that the SIX Collections of Hadeeths, collected by Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Abu Da'ud, Nasai and Ibn Majah were the authentic Sahih collections. That concept was revised by the Islamic scholars when some of the narrations from the last four compilers did not stand up to the tests. Only the collections by Bukhari and Muslim were to be regarded as trustworthy - Sahih. When some of the spurious narrations from these two Collections were questioned, the stringent consensus was that any narration that has been accepted by Imam Bukhari as well as acknowledged by Imam Muslim also, was to be regarded as an authenticate record. Below are the sets of narrations concerning the Standard of Character depicted for our beloved prophet Muhammad (blessing of Allah be upon him), to be found within the Sahih Collection by Bukhari as well as Muslim.
Please read the Two Verses of the Glorious Qur'an quoted below. They reveal the Standard of Character given to us by Allah (s.w.t.) for His Messenger. Later on, compare them with what had been narrated in the Hadeeths Books by Bukhari and Muslim, quoted underneath. The readers will discover TWO conflicting pictures emerging from TWO extreme spectrums of the Standard of Character for Prophet Muhammad in these Two Sets of Documents.
What to BELIEVE and what to DISBELIEVE and REJECT is our choice.
Say: The truth is from your Rabb (the Lord). Then whosoever will,
let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve.
Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers Fire.
Its tent encloseth them.
Qur'an 18: 29

Two Verses from the GLORIOUS QUR’AN:

(1) And, We have sent you (O' Muhammad), not but as a mercy for all creatures.       Surah Al-Anbiyaa (21), Verse 107.
      Wa maa 'arsalnaka 'illaa Rahmatal-lil-'alameen.

(2) And indeed you (O' Muhammad), are on a character most lofty.      Surah Al-Qalam (68), Verse 4.
     Wa 'innaka la-'alaa khuluqin 'azeem.

Hadeeths compiled by BUKHARI:

(1) Narrated Abu Qilaba: Anas said, "Some people of 'ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle ." (Book #4, Hadith #234).

The similar account as above is being repeated by Bukhari in FIVE other narrations:

(2) Book #59, Hadith #505.

(3) Book #71, Hadith #623.

(4) Book #82, Hadith #794.

(5) Book #82, Hadith #796.

(6) Book #82, Hadith #797.

Hadeeths compiled by MUSLIM:

(1) Anas reported: Eight men of the tribe of 'ukl came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and swore allegiance to him on Islam, but found the climate of that land uncogenial to their health and thus they became sick, and they made complaint of that to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: Why don't you go to (the fold) of our camels along with our shepherd, and make use of their milk and urine. They said: Yes. They set out and drank their (camels') milk and urine and regained their health. They killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. This (news) reached Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and he sent them on their track and they were caught and brought to him (the Holy Prophet). He commanded about them, and (thus) their hands and feet were cut off and their eyes were gouged and then they were thrown in the sun, until they died. This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn al-Sabbah with a slight variation of words. (Book #016, Hadith #4131).

The similar account as above is being repeated by Muslim in TWO other narrations:

(2) Book #016, Hadith #4132.

(3) Book #016, Hadith #4134.

Webmaster's note:
Allah (s.w.t.) has Revealed to us:

This day I have perfected your religion for you,
completed My Favor upon you and have
chosen for you Deen Islam.
Qur'an 5: 3.
If one was to believe in the above Revealed Verse (5: 3) with FULL FAITH then for him/her the Path is Clear and Straight Forward. Reject anything that CONFLICTS with or CONTRADICTS the Qur'an.
Here is another thought that one needs to reflect upon; There are several books on the biography of the Prophet in various languages. Have you discovered the above narrated accounts of Hadeeths in any published book of Prophet's Biography? If not, these reports are Spurious...

CHRISTIANITY NEEDS THE LETTERS WRITTEN BY PAUL AND OTHERS TO COMPLETE THEIR FAITH IN JESUS, although he said:
If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth and truth will make you free.
John 8: 31/32

Majority of Christians have gone away from the Prophetic Truth by following the so called Pauline Christianity...
NEED WE THE BELIEVERS IN ALLAH FOLLOW THEIR FOOTSTEPS?
